ACCRA, July 4, 2018 (GJA) – The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has opened nominations for its 23rd Media Awards scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 2018.
The awards are open to members of the Association working in the Ghanaian media establishments and cover broadcast or published works from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.
Categories for the Awards include the P.A.V. Ansah Journalist of the Year, Komla Dumor Most Promising Young Journalist of the Year, Best News Reporter for radio, television and print, Best Features for radio, television and print, and Best Business/Finance and Economic Reporting.
New categories have been introduced for this year’s awards, including Maritime Reporting, Best Radio Station, Best Television Station, Best Newspaper and Best Student Jounalist, which is meant to encourage journalism students to pursue professional excellence.
The deadline for the submission of the entries is at 5:00pm on Friday, August 3, 2018.
